Financial Support: Church Giving

There are numerous ways your church can support our ministry.

TurkeyThanksgiving Offering

Each October, Thornwell turkey coin holders, bulletin inserts, and offering envelopes are sent to each Presbyterian Church (USA) in the Synod of South Atlantic. Encourage your Sunday School classes and congregation to stuff the Thornwell turkeys with coins to help our children. If your church would like to change the number of materials you receive, please contact the Development Office at 864-938-2736.

Annual Budget

Your congregation may also choose to include Thornwell in its annual budget. A member of our staff will be happy to talk with your session representative.

Thornwell’s Sponsorship Program

Presbyterian Women, Presbyterian Men, Sunday School classes and youth groups often participate in Thornwell's Sponsorship program. Click on the link to learn more about the personal and creative ways your group can help.

Willie Anderson Society

Individuals and churches choosing to make a gift of $5,000 or more to Thornwell will be recognized as members of the Willie Anderson Society. This society was created to honor the memory of William P. (Willie) Anderson, the 10-year-old boy who made the first gift of 50 cents for Dr. Jacobs’ orphanage in 1872.
